KrebsFest Schools Project
Inspiring the next generation of researchers
As part of KrebsFest, we have developed a project with local secondary schools to see how science inspires young people. They have been working artist Steve Pool and ten PhD students from the University of Sheffield to create a short four-minute video expressing what excites them about science. There will be a dedicated night for the school students, their classmates, teachers and parents to view the films at the University of Sheffield. Two trophies will be awarded for the best film and the best presentation about the film.
The schools taking part in the KrebsFest project are:
- King Edward VII, Sheffield
- Bradfield School
- Meadowhead School
- Hope Valley College
- Maltby Academy
- St Mary’s Catholic High School
- Westfield School
By creating this arts–science collaboration, working with an artist and students at the University, we are inspiring local children in the region to engage with science and encourage them to become the next generation of researchers.
